Touch Screen Scanning at Gottesman

| June 22, 2012

Earlier this year, we tested–and then purchased–a Scannx BookScan Center, one of the fastest and most user-friendly self-service scanners we’ve seen. Set up in room 105 (behind the library’s 1st floor Services desk), the Scannx takes you through a few steps to choose your output, such as a black and white jpeg, a color PDF, etc., and where you want to send your scan, your options including Google docs, our new Ninja printer, or to any email address. The scanner has both a flatbed for books and a feeder for multi-page documents. We know it’s been well-recieved so far: in just 3 and 1/2 months it’s been used over 1,800 times! Check out the stats, as well as a demo video, below.

ScannX usage since March 8, 2012:

Scans to email: 1,382

Scans to USB: 276

Scans to printer: 118

Scans to Google Docs: 39

Scans to Device: 1
