Atheists in America Book Talk
Library staff should watch this Vialogue and discuss (in Vialogues!) better ways to capture library events with video. No idea is too small to be valuable! Upon review, I think you will find many things we could be doing better with the technology we have.
Our main goal with book talks is often to create a serviceable record of the event. As long-form video, it’s not highly edited. To keep costs low (both technical and people costs), we do not stay to oversee the event capture.
For reference, this video was created using:
- Our set of new wireless microphones. In this case, I deployed 3 hand-held mics, and skipped the clip-on mic (to avoid unnecessary complications). Was this a good choice? What worked and what didn’t?
- We did not use the in-room video because of a technical glitch, and instead deployed two automated Zoom cameras.
- Minimal 2-camera editing and audio mixing.
Take a look and see what you think!
