I Love My Librarian!

In The New York Times of Monday, August 27th, my eye cast upon the large script and full ad  — the “I Love My Librarian 2012 Award“.  Even more happily came the words on page C6 — “Librarians in our nation’s 122,000 libraries make a difference in the lives of millions of Americans every day.” I noted the pile of books, with a laptop on top, and mused on all the ways we work.

Joined by the NYT and ALA (American Library Association) Carnegie Corporation invites nominations to shine the spotlight on a librarian at one’s school, public, college, community college, or university library. Up to 10 winners will be selected to receive a $5,000 cash award and plaque, and they will be honored at a ceremony and reception at The New York Times in December.

All public, school, college, community college, and university nominations must be received by September 12th, so now’s your chance to make a difference!
