I just finished reading (well, listening to) “Mindset: The New Psychology of Success” by Dr. Carol Dweck. I originally found this book in the book drop some time last year. I recently picked it up and really enjoyed it. Being that the hardcover copy is rather heavy, I decided to download the audiobook. I listened to it for about a week during my commute. I expected the book to entail being a “positive” person and getting “in the game” mentally. Though there were some elements of that, “Mindset” was much more — entailing real life examples, practical uses in one’s daily life, and the consequences of mindset in raising children, communicating in relationships (family, romantic and friendships), playing sports, and learning.

Dr. Carol Dweck, previous professor at Columbia University, wrote this book using years of research data (from students young and old, and adults from all walks of life). The book describes two mindsets in particular — the fixed and growth mindsets. Below you’ll find an infographic that describes both very well. Click to expand.
