About the Author(s):

Erich Goode recieved a PhD in sociology from Cloumbia Unversity and has taught at New York University, the University of North Carolina, the Hebrew Unvirsity of Jerusalem, and the University of Maryland. He is the author of 10 books and the editor of six, mainly on deviance and drug use, and has published over 40 academic articles in newspapers, magazines,  literacy journals. He recently completed a master’s degree in nonfiction writing, focusing on memoir, Goode is currently Sociology Professor Emeritus at the State university of New York at Stony Brook, where he taught for more than 30 years.
